Last night we HAD to stop; all four of us felt grubby (no showers for a day and a half), exhausted and our limbs had stopped working from sitting for so many hours. Besides, we were in Montana, Big Sky Country, where there is so much gorgeous scenery (can’t see it in the dark) AND wildlife that like to cross highways at night. Forgetting that it was Saturday of a long weekend, when we stopped in Livingston, Montana we were surprised to discover that every hotel room was booked so we moved on. By the time we checked into the Bozeman Comfort Inn, it was almost an hour later, 10:00 PM Mountain Time, and we were having trouble keeping our eyes open.

This morning we were back on the road by 6:00 under clear skies with warm weather in the forecast. Evidently there are some brush and/or forest fires burning in the near distance because we could see and smell smoke all around us, giving the scenery an eerie appearance. Montana is beautiful and the farther west we go the more diverse it becomes; rocky crags, rolling hills and mountain peaks with rivers and streams everywhere.

We had the GPS set for Trader Joe’s in Everett, Washington, on our way to Mission so we could stock up on goodies for Karley and Ian. Once that was accomplished, it was on to Mission. We arrived there at 6:30 PM Pacific Time, in time to see Makai before he goes to bed. Once he does, we will too...we are beat!
