We are down to our last twenty-four hours with Karley and Makai before they fly back to Vancouver and today, she and I, along with Makai made the journey to Peterborough. Our dear friends, the Windrem's and the Brown's, live there and we wanted to get together with them so they could meet Makai before he goes home with his mom. Rick stayed overnight at Burl's Creek with Bill and Graham and was working again today so he was unable join us.

We left Orillia by 9:30 AM so we could be in Peterborough by 11:00 but our timing for Makai's naptime was a little off. He was awake for almost the entire hour and a half drive (with the exception of a 15 minute nap in the car, not nearly enough) but he still provided everyone with big smiles when we arrived. It was great to see Terry, Janice, Hilary and Scott again after such a long time. Ted and Jane Brown arrived shortly after we did and for the first time, Makai played shy and reached for his mom while Jane held him. It is so incredible seeing how much he has changed in the three weeks he has been here. (Ian is in for a big surprise) After a fabulous lunch and a great visit we headed back to Orillia hoping that Makai would sleep in the car on the way back. (He remained awake for the whole visit!)

Once we arrived back in Orillia, Karley's friends Brandie, along with her girls Nicola and Hennessy, and Heather and Bard came by to say hello and goodbye while I tidied up and looked for anything that might get left behind. We have to be up and on the road tomorrow morning by 5:30 AM so that Karley and Makai can catch their 8:00 flight. We had an eventful final day and now at 8:20 PM, we are all getting ready for bed. Methinks it will be a short night and an emotional day tomorrow!!
