We have some good friends in North Royalton, Ohio a few hours from Wakarusa. Don and Linda Brooker were guests at Grandview Lodge Resort and we have maintained a friendship with them. When we journeyed over to Wakarusa in June, we had promised Don and Linda we would visit with them, however, we just ran out of time and had to cancel. This time we were determined to visit with them no matter what. Today seemed like the best day to head over there for a visit. The weather was clear and we had no other commitments, so we got up early and drove over to their place. It is approximately 400 kms. to North Royalton from here which equates to roughly four hours of driving time one way.

We arrived at their home shortly after noon and were greeted by two very happy friends. We had a great afternoon talking about fishing at Sparrow Lake, summers at Grandview Lodge and our travels. We compared notes on cameras and talked about GPS systems. We have a Pioneer GPS (Global Positioning System) installed onboard the motorhome. We had the same type on our other motorhome and we love it. We program where we want to go and it directs us giving us instructions as to where and when to turn and how far it is to our destination. We decided we wanted to get one for the car too so that when we are travelling around the country exploring, we have some assistance besides yours truly reading maps. The one in the motorhome is nicknamed Betty and the one in the car goes by Carmen (it is manufactured by Garmin). When we went to Don and Linda's, we programmed their address into Carmen and she took us right to their door. We wanted to treat Don and Linda to dinner so we brought Carmen with us in their car (she is portable, Betty is not) and she took us right to the restaurant. Don was certainly impressed.

After a great afternoon and an enjoyable meal, we left our friends and headed back to Wakarusa. We were "home" by 9:45 pm in time for me to write and check my email. We expected to see a full parking facility but were disappointed to find the lot empty, however another Travel Supreme RV pulled in later so at least now, we have a neighbour. It will be interesting to see how many are here in the morning. We suspect there won't be as many here now as compared to June when the weather was better because, really, who wants to "Camp out" in sub-zero weather. The smart RVers are in Florida!! Soon........Cool
