We Finally Did It! PDF Print E-mail

Ever since we left Ontario in December 2003 we have wanted a motorcycle. We have met many other RVers that have a bike either in the back of their towed truck or trailer or mounted on a platform at the back of their motorhome and we have watched them with envy. There have been many places and many times when we wished we had a motorcycle to do our sight seeing on and now we finally have one.

Our friends, Rob and Rosanne, have a motorcycle here and when they flew down to visit us in Texas in March 2004, we rented a couple of Harley's and the four of us rode to Corpus Christi and back to San Antonio one day. We had a wonderful day and had we been on more comfortable, quieter bikes, it would have been completely perfect. When we got back here in May, they were seriously considering selling their Yamaha Ventura Royale and we were quite excited to buy it. However, they were very undecided so after a couple of weeks, we started to look for a different one. Besides this way they can keep their bike and while we are here we can enjoy riding around Ontario with our friends.

We are now the proud owners of a Kawasaki Voyager XII complete with a little trailer (which we will be selling) and not only that; we made some new friends in the process. Today after we took delivery of the bike, (which we bought on eBay) the previous owners, Brad and Robyn, rode back to Windsor (where they are from) with us in the motorhome. The timing was perfect for all of us because we are heading to Indiana for a week and they got to enjoy one last motorcycle cruise. It was hard to leave our new "toy" behind but once we get back, we are looking forward to making some trips in Ontario on our bike!
