Okay, so here’s the scoop on the motorcycle. Despite my whining about our sore butts, we really enjoy motorcycling and we have decided that as long as we are healthy we would like to continue to use it for many years to come. When the time comes that we actually reside in our condo in Yaletown, it comes with one parking spot and if we buy a Mini Cooper (or a similar small car), we could park both vehicles in one spot.

Our trailer is rigged perfectly for a Kawasaki Voyager and Kawasaki stopped making the Voyager in 2003. Our bike is a 1988 and the 2003 model is identical other than the colour of the paint. Since we bought ours, Rick has “prettied” it up with some accessories which can be easily transferred onto the new bike. Ours has 143,000 kilometers on it and the new one 16,100 kilometers on it; quite a difference. We found the 2003 Kawasaki in Bremerton, Washington, a three and half hour drive from here at a great price, even with the exchange factored in. Finally, we’ll be able to sell ours, which by the way has been very well maintained, for close to what we paid for it, making the whole transaction a great deal.

And so there you have it; the story of the new bike! We plan to pick it up on Wednesday so once we do, you can be sure there will be some pictures here on this site. For now though you’ll have to be satisfied with this one of Rick surrounded by Elmo with Monet and Makai.
