june 7-07.jpgBecause we are still in Indiana we weren’t able to complete our real estate deal, the purchase of our new Yaletown condo, in person. Instead on Monday, we rounded up a local notary public and with the help of Travel Supreme, faxed dozens of pages to our BC lawyer’s office. A few phone calls, some emails and another fax to the bank finally completed our part of the transaction and on Tuesday we officially became the owners of a brand new condo in downtown Vancouver, BC. We have yet to see our condo nor do we have the keys but once we finally arrive in British Columbia I will take pictures and post them here. What would we do without computers, faxes and telephones?

The other disadvantage we have faced is that we were hoping to be in BC before our vehicle insurance expired. Because we are changing our home province and in BC the insurance is run by the province, we had hoped to change our driver’s licenses, register our vehicles and purchase new insurance all by June 8th. Needless to say I had to renew our insurance but I was able to do that via the internet and once we get to BC, I will cancel it and get a refund.

The biggest and hardest thing about being delayed here is that we are really missing Makai and Monet. We haven’t seen them since they visited us in Desert Hot Springs this past winter and they have both changed a lot since then. Makai is talking in full sentences and Monet has gone from just sitting to crawling, then walking. According to Karley she is a real ham now too and we just want to get to Mission to do some serious hugging. Karley sent me some more pictures of Monet this morning; this one laughing after she walked in her “squeaky” shoes. Laughing
