Staying in a Hotel PDF Print E-mail

Yesterday morning, when the Travel Supreme  crew arrived at the shop at 6:00 a.m. we were up waiting for them to arrive. Our furnace had quit working AGAIN through the night, only this time it quit at 10:30 p.m. We barely slept and we couldn't shower for the second day in a row. Paul, the service manager was extremely apologetic and the decision was made to replace the whole Hydro-hot unit. We just felt that unfortunately we had received a lemon unit and would not feel confident with the original one even if they were sure that it was the motor that was causing the problem. These systems are made up of many components, the motor is just one of them and it was one part that we had not yet replaced. Paul put us up in a nice hotel in Elkhart, a few miles away and they proceeded to install a new Hydro-hot system.

It was a big job and took them most of the day just to get it installed. They still needed to test it and they ran out of time. At 4:00 o'clock, they were still working on it but we came back to the repair centre and checked on and fed the cats, collected a few items and went back to the hotel. The cats were safe and warm, as the motorhome was staying parked inside for the night. We were exhausted and while in the hotel, warm and showered we slept for twelve hours! I couldn't believe it. I had been having difficulty sleeping before the Hydro-hot stopped working, that along with the early mornings and heatless nights had taken their toll.

After a small breakfast, we headed back to the shop. The cats were fine and the motorhome was toasty warm. Our new Hydro-hot system is working beautifully and we are very happy. Tomorrow, the motorhome is having a small repair done to the paint and then we will be heading off to Florida. I had hoped that we would have had more to time explore the area but it will have to wait for another time. The folks here have been wonderful, extremely accommodating and very helpful. Another RV owner asked us if we would opt for the Hydro-hot system again and we both said, "yes" with no hesitation. When it works properly, there is nothing else like it and we know we just had the misfortune of getting a lemon. There is no question at all if we would buy Travel Supreme again, we love our coach (aka house) and have no regrets. We are looking forward to our next few years in it! The picture here is of Rick with Sam happily kneading his stomach. It is her way of telling us she's happy we are back! Laughing
