We woke up to beautiful blue sky and sunshine and a clear, forecast. The warmer weather has finally arrived to these parts and the grass is green and the trees are in bud. Our next destination was Newton, Texas, just inside the state line, a three and a half hour drive. We liked Betty's and Cajun country so much, we were not really anxious to leave but we also wanted to get to Newton in enough time so that Rick could watch the NASCAR race, so we were on the road by 10:00.

The drive was uneventful and the traffic was fairly light with few trucks because it is Sunday. We arrived at the Whispering Creek RV Park and Motel on Highway 190 just outside of Newton. It is a great overnight park with level, gravel sites and full hook-ups. There is a small, clean laundry room, a couple of shower rooms, a little gift shop, picnic tables, grills and walking trails on site.

We were able to get hooked up and find the satellite quickly so that Rick could watch the race outside while he rearranged the storage area...again. I did laundry and worked on the route to our next destination. Tomorrow we are heading to a campground in Wills Point, a couple of hours outside of Dallas. We are going to do some serious spring-cleaning while we are there.
