This morning we woke up to an overcast sky (again) so we went for a quick jog before the rain started. We were in no rush because we had a short drive to Eugene and we planned to stop in Rogue River, a small community north of Gold Hill to check out Lee's Olive House on our way.

This little store has olives of every kind; garlic stuffed, almond stuffed, sun-dried tomato stuffed, anchovy stuffed, pepper stuffed, green onion stuffed, even blue cheese stuffed olives! They also sell pickled cauliflower, garlic, asparagus, green beans, okra, peppers, dills, and onions and we were able to sample any of the pickles we were interested in. For non-pickle lovers, they carried a large variety of candy and nuts and advertise that they have the largest selection of licorice anywhere. It was a cute little store and we left there with a few jars of interesting pickles.

The drive to Eugene was very scenic, however it rained non-stop from Rogue River and it was difficult to enjoy it. Today was by far the rainiest day we have experienced so far and unfortunately I was unable to take any pictures. We arrived at The Shamrock RV Village, a residential mobile home park and RV campground within the city limits of Eugene. Rick is taking a course here on Friday, so we wanted to find a place from where he could get to his class easily. We can usually save some money by staying in one place for at least a week, so we are here until next Tuesday. The forecast improves as the week progresses and we are not too far from the coast, so we are hoping to do some sightseeing while we are here.
