Yesterday, before we went to town, we walked the beach here one more time to watch the surfers. Usually, this beach doesn't attract more than an occasional boogie boarder but the waves today were an exception. In November, the storms here are even more severe but we knew this was as close as we would get this time around and sure enough, by this morning the surf here was calm and the seaweed of yesterday was gone. The Kluchert's and their friends, Gary and Ruth dropped by around 11:00 and after they left, Rick and I went into Tofino to pick up a few groceries.

On our way back, we decided to try the menu at Sobo's, the catering truck eatery rated in the top 10 new restaurants in Canada by EnRoute magazine last year. We had checked it out earlier in our visit but hadn't eaten there yet and we wanted to see what the fuss was about. It is hard to believe that a catering truck can put out such quality fresh, food and the dining area consists of picnic tables under a tarp. What a find! We highly recommend this eating experience to anyone coming here and it just proves that looks can definitely be deceiving.

Tonight we went to the Wickaninnish Pointe Restaurant on Long Beach, partly for the view and partly because the menu seemed promising. The scenic vista didn't let us down however the food was disappointing but that could be because the meal we'd enjoyed last night at the Raincoast Café was so good. We were surprised to see that all the huge piles of seaweed we had seen on the beach yesterday had washed out to sea and the water had calmed considerably. It just amazes us how the beach changes completely daily and there is no end to the beauty and variety of the gifts that Mother Nature provides.
