feb 14a.jpgThis morning while their parents were packing up and getting prepared to leave Palm Springs, Monet was busy with her Mom and Makai was with Granni and Grampa. At one point Makai wanted to go over to the rental unit to see his Mom so when Ian made one trip over to the motorhome he returned with Makai in tow. All was going well until, in the blink of an eye, Makai's fingers were caught in a car door when it was closed. Cry

Suddenly Ian came running back to the motorhome with a wailing Makai to retrieve Bear-Bear and just as quickly ran back to the rental unit without telling us what happened. (Rick was occupied with a neighbour and I was on the phone.) Within minutes Karley came running back with Monet in arms explaining what happened and joining Ian and Makai on a drive into Desert Hot Springs to go to the hospital emergency room.

Fortunately there were no broken bones and by the time we met the trio at the airport with Monet, (she'd stayed with us while they went to the hospital) Makai was no longer hysterical and happy to see us. Karley and Ian seemed a little calmer too (this is just the beginning Mom & Dad so you might as well get used to it!) and soon everyone was ready to head home. It was not the way we'd have liked their visit to end but I am pleased to say they have all departed in one piece.

Makai, Granni and Grampa hope your hand is feeling better, we love you all and will miss you a lot.feb 14b.jpg
